Escape Velocity spring series

Escape Velocity spring series road race March 1st 2015 — Bicycle racing on open roads has its moments of humour. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen the driver of a pickup pulling a horse trailer think he would be faster up a hill than Cat 1 riders. The truck was dropped very quickly at the next intersection. More pictures from the race in the gallery below.

No, he wasn’t racing although as he passed by a spectator was heard to say, “Doesn’t that guy look a lot like Sluggo“. More pictures from the race below.

More of the Tuesday night crits

August 14th, 2012 — Another wierd picture from the Escape Velocity Tuesday night criterium as a bike damaged in a crash is carried back to the start line by the buddy of an injured rider. More pictures from all this year’s crits below.

Breakaway and chase

Escape Velocity spring road race series March 20th, 2011 — Sandra Walter of Local Riders pulls the “B” mens peleton to the crest of a hill for the second lap in a row during the fifth race of Escape Velocty’s spring road racing series held in Bradner. The race was one of many breakaways and many chases prompting the father of the rider below to comment as he pulled away far too early, “What does he think he’s doing?”
