June 26th, 1977 – Over a hundred karts took part in the second annual race through the downtown streets of Marysville, Washington. Normally I wouldn’t photograph an American race but this was something special and there were a number of Canadian drivers participating and expecting to do well so I took pictures and wrote a story for Karter News, the official publication of the International Karting Federation. The track was 6/10th of a mile long and the races were for 30 minutes. Sheldon Orr from Vancouver was second in the 100cc light class while Peter Hall also from Vancouver won the 200cc class.
