June 1st, 2022 — Shack Island, just outside of Nanaimo, normally only accessible by boat or by swimming, but by chance I came by when there was an extreme low tide and could walk across from Piper’s Lagoon.

Times Colonist
April 21st, 2022 — At one time, very early every morning, a small speed boat left Crofton on Vancouver Island loaded with the early edition of the Times Colonist newspaper and headed to Vesuvius Bay on Saltspring Island. A truck and driver were waiting at the government dock in Vesuvius to pick up the papers and deliver them to homes on the island. Those days are long gone but many of the paper boxes remain, such as this one on Langley Road.
