Photographers like to have projects especially ones with restrictions. This one was about cars, mostly derelicts, but also about how all that technology and engineering once so expensive often sits neglected in out of the way or vulnerable places. The restrictions were to use a medium format Fuji 6×7 camera held perfectly horizontal and vertical and that the pictures had to be printed full frame. This proved problematic with the Fuji so I switched to a 6×6 Yashicamat with a spirit level attached to keep everything square. Most of the pictures were taken while I was driving around Vancouver between 1983 and 1991 while on assignments for the Province Newspaper.
