Bramble ball
October 11th, 2025 — During the last 10 minutes of a soccer game between Salt Spring Island and Victoria all four game balls were knocked into the brambles surrounding the pitch at Portlock Park. Was this an attempt by Victoria to waste time as they were leading by just one goal; it’s possible. After the game players searched the brambles for the balls. I think only one was recovered.

2025 Vancouver marathon
May 4th, 2025 — Sergio Raez Villanueva (4th place) from Missassauga, Ontario and Yuki Kawauchi (3rd place) from Japan were the first runners up Camosun Street hill and received lots of vocal encouragement from spectators during this year’s Vancouver marathon. December 7th, 2024 — Kouken Narbett, #553, was first through water at this years Gunner Shaw Memorial XC Race at Jericho Beach Park. He went on to win the 5km race in 17:08. Alex Broekhuyse, #260 was close behind and went on to win the 10km race in 35:03. And below is Arthur Gee who won the plus 80 class in 1:39:02.
