February 3rd, 2022 — Scarecrow made from pots in the community gardens on West Boulevard near 49th Avenue.
Tree in the sand
February 7th, 2022 — Tree branch planted in the sand of Wreck Beach, until high tide comes to take it away. UPDATE: Whoever stuck this tree branch in the sand, I’ve been told it was Stefan, did a very good job because as of today, February 11th, it’s still there. SECOND UPDATE: And as of the 14th it’s still there, although looking a little beaten up by the weather. See below.

Waterfront station
October 31st, 2007 — As I go through my files, deleting the out of focus, I come across pictures never published, like this one from 2007 of construction in front of Waterfront station on Cordova Street.
Now and then
January 29th, 2022 — The community garden at the corner of Davie Street and Burrard is now surrounded by a chain link fence with locked gates which means that development is about to happen. The picture below is what the garden looked like in 2010. Developers get a big tax break if their undeveloped land is used for some sort of community activity rather than sitting empty.

June 20th, 2005 — Condo towers from the Burrard Street Bridge.
Coffee sacks
January 21st, 2022 — Coffee sacks covering the ground in an area of Pacific Spirit Park that is being restored.
Left over snow
February 11th, 2017 — Left over snow on the west side of Vancouver.
